Introduction To Parkour

Parkour is a extreme sports, but is not extreme. This sports, before named was Yamakasi, now is Parkour. This sport is need a discipline that appeared first in France. More similar to martial art than to a sport, Parkour focused on moving from one place to another place as smoothly, efficiently and quickly as possible using the abilities of the human body.

It is built on the philosophical premise that any obstacle, physical or mental, can be surpassed. In Indonesia Parkour was brought from the Australian traceurs. Now in Indonesia the community has grown, for example joining the One Giant Leap exhibition. It’s to help stage the world’s first ever global Parkour jam against climate change as part of our One Giant Leap campaign. A practitioner of parkour is called a traceur if male, or traceuse if female.

Basic Movements Of Parkour
Based on Parkour-online.com and my expirience when joining the Parkour, the basic movements of Parkour are  :

Ø  Landing =  This position is the correct one if we get landing, we need this position because  to get more safe from fall down.

Ø  Balance = Balance in Parkour is the most important movement, because balance is helping to train our concentrate if we do some flow

Ø  Cat Balance = Cat Balance or the other name is Quadrupedal movement, this is just same like balance, but in this balance, we do it like a cat and it make more our hand strong cause we must hold our  all agencies and get more concentrate.

Ø  Vault / Pass = To move over an object with one's hand on an object to create the movement. Usually this movement is the basic movement if we do the flow and this movement is the simplest one whether the other movement.

Ø  Turn Vault = A vault or dropping movement involving a 180 degrees turn. This movement is also the basic movement, but its more harder because we need to turn 180 degrees.

Ø  Speed Vault = To pass of an obstacle by jumping side ways first, then placing one hand on the obstacle to get more balance and continue running. This movement is the fastest movement and this movement also simple to do it.

Ø  Thief / Lazy Vault = To pass of an obstacle by using a one hand vault, then we using the other hand at the end of the vault to push our body move forwards to finish the movement.

Ø  Roll = This movement is important in Parkour, because all kind of movement, is ended by Roll, to make our load fall forward, and it makes this movement.
